The International Football Federation (FIFA) announced for the first time in history that it will directly award all clubs that send their players to the World Cup qualifiers. This initiative is noted as unprecedented in the history of football.
The Federation's leadership announced the funds allocated for this purpose - a total of 355 million dollars. This amount is almost 70% higher than the payments in the program related to the 2022 World Cup. At that time, clubs were paid compensation only for players who made it to the main stage of the championship.
Now the situation has completely changed. All clubs that send their players to qualifying matches will also benefit from financial support. This means that large clubs from different continents to small teams can benefit from the reform.
Experts emphasize that this decision was the result of lengthy negotiations between FIFA and the European Clubs Association. The main role in this process was played by the interests of clubs, their financial burden, and the issue of supporting the participation of football players in international matches.
Through this, FIFA aims to provide additional incentives not only to national teams but also to clubs considered their main pillars. Because regardless of which national team a football player represents, their preparation, potential, and physical condition are directly related to the activities of clubs.
It is also hoped that the new program will further strengthen the relationship between clubs in the football world and FIFA.
In the near future, the participation of football players in international matches will serve not only as a national honor, but also as an additional source of income for clubs.
