According to the Argentinian publication Ole, FIFA has expressed its readiness to host the 2030 World Cup for the first time with 64 teams. This proposal was put forward as an initiative by the South American Football Confederation - CONMEBOL and is currently receiving strong support.
If this project is implemented, the competition will be organized in 16 groups of four teams each. The teams that took first and second places in each group will advance to the playoffs and continue to compete in the knockout stage.
