At the World Para Swimming Championshps in Singapore, Uzbek athlete Yegor Bolotov achieved a historic result. She became the world champion in the 100-meter backstroke and won a gold medal. This was reported by the press service of the Paralympic Committee.
Competing in the S13 category, Bolotov completed the distance in 58.97 seconds and finished ahead of all his rivals. This result is the second medal for the Uzbekistan national team in the competition.
Thus, Yegor Bolotov made history as the first Uzbek male athlete to win a gold medal at the World Para Swimming Championships.
As a reminder, he also won a bronze medal yesterday in the 100-meter freestyle.
