The Football Association of Uzbekistan (UFA) has announced the signing of an official contract with Fabio Cannavaro, the 2006 Ballon d'Or winner, the 2006 World Cup champion, and former China national team coach. The Italian coach will now prepare our national team for the World Cup, which will be held in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
The UFA statement emphasizes that Cannavaro is one of the most influential defenders of the recent past, a specialist whose career and experience are capable of bringing the national team to a major competition. His style of work - discipline, compact defense, and quick transitions - is aimed at increasing the team's competitiveness in the international arena.
The new head coach will be assisted by specialists:
- Eugenio Albarella - assistant coach (experience with the Japanese national team, Juventus, Udinese, Dinamo Zagreb);
- Chiccio Troize Francesco - physical training coach ("Benevento," "Udineze," "Dinamo Zagreb");
- Antonio Kimenti - goalkeeping coach (Italian youth team, "Sampdoria," "SPAL").
With the formation of the Cannavaro headquarters, additional information on the work plan, training format, and friendly meetings will be published in stages. The most important goal for the national team is to improve the game system before the World Cup, form a competitive squad, and ensure a stable result.
A new stage has begun, which will be the focus of the fans' attention: the national team, now under Cannavaro's leadership, will intensify preparations for the major tournament. The Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA) will promptly disclose all news from its official platforms.
