Barcelona’s young star Pedri has a small but meaningful pre-match ritual he shares with his mother. According to him, she always tells him to shave before every game — and it has become his lucky charm.
“My mom always says: ‘Shave before the match.’ If I forget, she definitely scolds me. So now it’s become my ‘good-luck ritual,’” Pedri told Mundo Deportivo.
The midfielder also spoke about his relationship with his mother, saying this tradition is not only about family affection but also a part of his mental preparation.
At 22, Pedri has played 8 La Liga matches this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist. However, reports claim head coach Hansi Flick is not fully satisfied with his physical condition.
Still, fans adore him for his sincerity and humility. His bond with his mother once again proves that “behind the great talent and passion lies a simple, kind-hearted person.”
