The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) held its annual awards ceremony today, recognizing the best players and coaches of the year, reports the-afc.com.
During the event, winners from various Asian countries were announced. It was noted that competition among football and futsal professionals this year was particularly strong.
According to the results, Iranian representatives won several major honors. The “Best Futsal Player of the Year” award went to Salar Agapur, who was praised for his exceptional performances and contribution to the national team.
The title of “Coach of the Year” was awarded to Ri Song-Ho of North Korea, who led his team to notable achievements in international competitions.
In the women’s category, Marzie Jafari from Iran was named “Women’s Coach of the Year” for her success with the women’s national team.
Among Asian players abroad, Lee Kang-In of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and South Korea was recognized as the “Best Asian Footballer Playing Overseas” for his creativity and consistency throughout the season.
In the youth category, Alex Badolato of Australia’s “Newcastle Jets” was named “Young Player of the Year” for his promising performances and attacking flair.
For women’s youth, the title of “Best Young Female Player” went to Choe Il-Son from North Korea, who played a key role in her team’s victories throughout the year.
Japan’s Hana Takahashi, defender of “Urawa Red Ladies,” was named “Women’s Player of the Year” for her leadership and reliability.
The most prestigious award, “Men’s Player of the Year,” went to Salem Al-Dawsari of Al Hilal (Saudi Arabia), who showcased outstanding performances both for club and country.
The AFC highlighted that this year’s ceremony once again demonstrated Asia’s football progress, honoring both collective and individual success stories.
