Manchester City head coach Josep Guardiola spoke about his work at the club as well as his previous coaching experience with Barcelona and Bayern Munich. According to the Spanish manager, he feels freer and more confident at his current club than anywhere else.
“We have changed a lot over the past year. But both the staff and the players are driven by one goal — to win. I can see passion and determination in their eyes. At Barcelona or Bayern, if any problems arose, I would feel that I might be sacked. Here at Manchester City, that doesn’t happen,” Guardiola said at a press conference.
According to him, he still feels full of new ideas, mentally strong, and capable of achieving even greater results with his team. “We are playing better than last season, and I can see progress in every match. This gives me energy because my work here is not yet done. That’s why I’m still at City,” he added.
Guardiola noted that his main goal is to maintain the team’s stability and lay the foundation for new titles. “My players and I have the strength. We believe we can have an even better season than the previous one,” he said.
For reference, Manchester City currently sits fifth in the Premier League table with 13 points after seven rounds.
