La Liga has entered a heated stage once again. FC Barcelona head coach Hans-Dieter Flick shared his thoughts about the team’s next opponent — Real Madrid.
In an interview with “Madrid Universal,” the German coach said:
“Real should beat Getafe today, but in football, anything can happen. We’ll wait and see.”
Under Flick’s leadership, Barcelona defeated Girona 2–1 on Saturday and regained the top spot in the table. The Catalans currently have 22 points, while Real Madrid have 21 with one game in hand.
The next historic showdown — “El Clásico” — will take place on October 26 at the Santiago Bernabéu. However, Flick will not be on the bench, as he was sent off in the previous match against Girona.
This is a serious loss for the Barcelona coach, since El Clásico is a match that defines a manager’s reputation. Flick will have to support his team remotely.
Barcelona fans, meanwhile, believe their team will continue its winning streak — the race for first place is only just heating up.
