Head coach of Qo‘qon-1912 Bahrom Haydarov answered journalists’ questions at the press conference after the Super League’s 26th round match between Qo‘qon-1912 and Navbahor (2:0). According to him, this victory was of great significance both for the team and for the fans.
— First of all, I would like to congratulate the law enforcement officers celebrating their professional holiday today, — said Haydarov. — Thanks to them, our football remains peaceful and orderly. As for the game, it was a very tough contest. Navbahor's motivation was high, and we expected that. We prepared for their counterattacks, but it took time to score a goal. Our goalkeeper saved the team in several situations — his participation played an important role in the victory.
According to the coach, although the red card received by Navbahor player Azim Ahmedov in the 22nd minute affected the course of the game, it did not guarantee the victory.
— Playing with one more player does not always give an advantage, — said Haydarov. — Because sometimes even teams with fewer players can win. Navbahor has individually strong players, so we had to play cautiously against them. We tried not to make mistakes and as a result, found our game.
Journalists asked the coach why he substituted some of the players who were playing well.
— Mostly, fans just see actions with the ball, but as coaches, we observe movement off the ball too, — he said. — We made some substitutions to strengthen the midfield. This was a tactical decision. The most important thing for me is that there is competition in the team. Now, every player in my team is ready to show his best if he steps onto the field.
Haydarov also shared his opinion about the championship race:
— After every game, I'm asked, “Who will be champion?” but for now, there is no clear favorite, — he said. — The chances of Neftchi and Nasaf are equal. Both teams will fight until the last round. This season is turning out to be very interesting — both the players and the fans have a lot of passion.
Bahrom Haydarov concluded his speech by thanking the fans of Qo‘qon-1912:
— This victory is for them. They always believe in us, even during difficult times. The guys are willing to fight on the field for such fans, — said the coach.
Thus, Qo‘qon-1912’s important victory over Navbahor lifted the team to 10th place in the league table and showed that the battle at the end of the championship is getting more and more interesting.
