Real Madrid continues to fight with UEFA

Real Madrid will continue its fight with UEFA
Madrid’s “Real” football club published a statement on its official website. The club evaluated the decision of the Madrid Court of Appeals positively.

This court had rejected the appeals submitted by UEFA, the Royal Spanish Football Federation, and La Liga. The court’s decision stated that UEFA had violated European Union free competition rules and abused its position regarding the Super League issue.

“This decision opens up the possibility for the club to file claims for large amounts of damages and losses,” the “Real” statement says. The club also stressed that it has conducted negotiations with UEFA throughout the year, but was unable to reach an agreement on improvements related to transparent governance, financial stability, protection of players' health, and free broadcasts for fans.

“Accordingly, the club confirms its intention to continue working for the development of world football and the protection of the interests of fans. At the same time, it demands compensation from UEFA for the damages caused,” the statement of “Real” reads.
