Inter Milan head coach Cristian Chivu commented on the 3-0 victory over Fiorentina in Serie A. The Nerazzurri managed to break through the visitors’ defense only in the 66th minute.
The opening goal was scored by Hakan Çalhanoğlu. Soon after, Petar Sučić netted the second goal in favor of the Milan side, and at the end of the match Çalhanoğlu confidently converted a penalty for his brace.
“It’s important to overcome difficulties to achieve our goals. Today it wasn’t easy for us: Fiorentina defended in an organized way and tried to rely on counterattacks.
In the first half, we couldn’t organize our game well – we lacked the right decisions with the ball in the opponent’s half. The situation changed thanks to a long-range shot – we hadn’t taken such opportunities in the first half.
This goal made our task much easier,” Chivu said in an interview with Sky Sport. Inter currently occupies third place in the league table after 9 rounds with 18 points.
