Bastoni passed the ball to the left side of the penalty area, and Lautaro Martinez precisely placed it into the far corner from a 12-meter distance – 1:0. Later, Federico Dimarco delivered a free kick pass into the goalkeeper's area, but Martinez's header went above the goalpost.

Nicolo Barella carried the ball down the right wing and sent a cross to the far corner, but Petar Suchich's shot went close to the post. In the second half, Barella provided an accurate pass to the center, and Martinez struck towards the goal, but the ball went over the target.

In the 62nd minute, Dimarco made a cross from the left wing, and Ange-Yoan Bonny scored from close range to make it 2:0. Piotr Zielinski also attempted a shot from a 17-meter distance, but the goal was disallowed due to a handball violation.
