Karpin Questions the Need to Call Up Mostovoy

Russian national football team head coach Valery Karpin shared his thoughts on the exclusion of Zenit player Andrey Mostovoy from the national team roster. According to Karpin, he intends to test other players in that position.

"Why should Mostovoy be called as the sixth or seventh winger? Just to fill the time?

I don't think it's unusual to see Mostovoy at Gazprom Arena. For that reason alone, there is no point in calling him up.

I am more interested in seeing players like Sadulayev or Glebov," Karpin was quoted as saying by the publication "Championship." On Wednesday, the Russian national team will play a friendly match against Peru at BetBoom Arena in St. Petersburg.

The match is scheduled to start at 8:00 PM local time. You can follow the detailed live text commentary of the game on the LiveResult portal.

Additionally, in November, the Russian national team is scheduled to play a second match against the Chilean national team.
