An-Nasr club leader and Portugal national team captain Cristiano Ronaldo has once again commented on the development of Saudi football. At the TOURISE Conference Global international tourism summit in Riyadh, he spoke not only about sports but also about the ongoing renewal processes in the country, writes Arab News.
The renowned striker emphasized that football in Saudi Arabia has been characterized by enormous potential and steady growth in recent years.
"I believe in this project, in football in this league, and most importantly, in the people. The Saudi championship has enormous potential. Over the past three years, the league has undergone significant changes, new stadiums have been built, specialists have arrived, and serious attention is being paid to youth development.
The Saudi people's love for football is a source of inspiration for me. They love this sport wholeheartedly and sacrifice their lives for their teams in every match," Ronaldo said.
According to the football star, he noted that he feels the renewal processes in Saudi Arabia not only through sports but also through the tourism sector.
"I am proud to participate in this country not only as a footballer, but also as a person who contributes to its development. The number of tourism, infrastructure, and cultural projects is growing. Being a part of this process is a great happiness for me. I tell the Saudi people: I am just like you, I am also a Saudi," Ronaldo concluded.
For information, Cristiano Ronaldo has been playing for one of Saudi Arabia's strongest clubs, Al-Nassr, since January 2023. His contract with the team will be valid until the summer of 2027.
