Two-time Olympic champion and former biathlete Dmitriy Vasilyev has expressed a negative opinion on the initiative to resume beer sales in stadiums. The draft law is currently under review by the State Duma.
"I view this matter very negatively. No amount of money can compare to the health of the population.
Beer in no way contributes to a healthy lifestyle because, as is well known, the Russian people lack a sense of moderation," Vasilyev said in an interview with "VseProSport." It should be recalled that the ban on beer sales in stadiums was introduced in 2005.
During the 2018 FIFA World Cup and the 2020 UEFA European Championship held in Russia, this ban was temporarily lifted. On this topic, the former coach of Voronezh's "Fakel" team, Dmitriy Pyatibratov, had also shared his views earlier.
