Portugal's national team midfielder Joao Neves shared his thoughts following his team's resounding 9-1 victory over Armenia in the World Cup 2026 qualifying stage. The hosts defeated their opponents with complete dominance.

"We scored many goals and demonstrated our team play in a perfect manner. Our ability to capitalize on goal-scoring opportunities in this match was at the highest level.

That's why so many goals were scored," the midfielder told UEFA's press service. Following this victory, the Portugal national team has collected 13 points and secured the top spot in their group.

As a result, the team earned a direct qualification for the World Cup 2026 tournament.
