For the first time in history, the FIFA World Cup, which will be held in the summer of 2026, will be held simultaneously in three countries - the USA, Canada, and Mexico. In preparation for this major competition, the qualifying matches in Europe have concluded, and the teams from the "old continent" participating in the World Cup have been determined.
The qualifying matches in Europe were very intense not only in the qualifying marathon, but also in the battle of the top scorers. The player who received the most votes and attention in this marathon was the leader of the Norwegian national team, one of the brightest representatives of modern strikers - Erling Haaland. The Manchester City forward has scored 16 goals and provided two assists in just eight matches, surpassing his rivals. His statistics not only led the national team to the World Cup, but also earned him the most valuable scorer of the qualification.
Netherlands national team striker Memphis Depay took the next spot after Haaland. He also proved his experience and goal-scoring skills once again, scoring eight times and providing four assists to his teammates. Depay was one of the key figures controlling the Netherlands' attack during the qualifiers.
The Austrian national team forward Marko Arnautovich also made it into the top three. He has eight goals and one assist. Arnautović played an important role in bringing Austria to the World Cup with his personal skills and experience.
