The Spanish city of Linares is hosting the Women's World Team Championship 2025 from November 18-23. The Uzbekistan women's national team is participating in this prestigious championship for the first time. The first days of the competition are over, and our girls, with their characteristic determination and will, showed great enthusiasm in the face of strong competitors.
The results of the first four rounds were as follows:
• Round 1: Georgia - Uzbekistan 3.5: 0.5
The chess players of our country put all their strength into the game against one of the favorites - Georgia, but the opponent showed serious resistance.
• Round 2: Uzbekistan - China 1.5: 2.5
Our team, having played a worthy game against China, one of the world's leading chess schools, continued its participation even more confidently.
• Round 3: France - Uzbekistan 1: 3
In the third round, the Uzbek girls won a very necessary victory. A convincing 3-1 victory over France gave the team new momentum.
• Round 4: Ukraine - Uzbekistan 1: 3
Another important victory in the fourth round. The 3-1 victory over an experienced opponent like Ukraine made our team a serious contender for the playoffs.
Notably, only the TOP-4 teams from each group will advance to the quarter-finals. In the current situation, a decisive match for Uzbekistan lies ahead - a crucial match against India awaits our team. If our girls achieve high results in this game as well, another new page may open in the history of chess.
