The management of Italy's "Udinese" football club has released an official statement expressing surprise at attempts to penalize the team over the transfer of Rolando Mandragora. This was reported by Football Italy.
The transfer in question occurred in 2018. The midfielder, currently playing for "Fiorentina," moved from "Juventus" to "Udinese" for 20 million euros.
In October 2020, he was sold back to "Juventus" for 15 million euros but remained on loan for some time. "Udinese" is now accused of deriving 3.11 million euros in fake revenue from this transfer.
In its official statement, "Udinese" expressed hope that the team's innocence would be proven and that initial court hearings would conclude with acquittals. It was noted that similar cases have also been reviewed by the same court.
