Young Uzbek chess player wins gold medal in Asia

The 27th Asian Championship for athletes in the 8-18 age category has begun in Bangkok, Thailand. Young Uzbek chess players are also actively participating in this prestigious competition.

On the first day of the competition, our 12-year-old compatriot Orijat Obidjonov showed a high result in the rapid category. He scored 6 points in 7 rounds, took 1st place in his category, and became the Asian champion.

Now Orijat will also participate in the standard and blitz categories. This achievement of our young athlete became another achievement of the Uzbek chess school in the international arena.
