Spanish journalist Juanma Rodriguez strongly criticized Habi Alonso's work style after Real Madrid's 2-2 draw against Elche in the 13th round of La Liga. In his opinion, the team is currently playing without a clear direction and cannot find its game.
"I'm seriously worried about Real Madrid's performance today. There is no growth, no dynamics. One of Alonso's most unexpected tactical decisions was to put Fran Garcia on the wing. This was the last option I expected. There's still no change in the team," Rodriguez said on El Chiringuito.
As a journalist, he compared Alonso's performances to the seasons under Rafael Benítez and Julen Lopetegui:
"Haby Alonso's style is increasingly resembling the mistakes of Benitez or Lopetegui - a very dangerous signal. I don't see what he's planning to do with the team."
Rodriguez emphasized that Real Madrid, in its current state, is not like any German clubs, not even worth comparing with Bayern Munich:
"They played with three more central defenders. Some players couldn't enter the game at all. The defensive line acted like a child."
According to the journalist, Alonso realized that he was struggling to integrate the ideas he had previously used in the Bundesliga into the Madrid squad:
"I think he understands that the German model cannot be used here."
