Following the announcement of the 2026 World Cup draw, the captain of the Uzbekistan national team, Eldor Shomurodov, shared his impressions. The forward emphasized that the descent group is a path to be traveled with determination and proper preparation.
According to Eldor, there could be both "very light" and "very heavy" groups in the draw. But the national team was ready to play against any opponent.
"I think our group is balanced and not too difficult. The most important thing is to be able to show our game. I was ready for any group. "There is no weak opponent at this stage," said the captain.
When Shomurodov was asked what he thought about Colombia, he noted the opponent as a serious force:
"I haven't seen their last matches, but Colombia has always been among the strong teams. There are many skilled players in the squad. After the draw, we will study everything in detail. This is the World Cup - only worthy teams come here. I think we also have enough opportunities."
The leader of our national team expressed special gratitude to the fans and called on them to unite even more:
"I wish our fans good health and lasting joy. Let them always support us. Their trust gives us strength. We will not lower their faces."
