The last weeks have been quite difficult for Uzbekistan's central defender Abdukodir Khusanov, who plays for "Manchester City." At the beginning of the season, our 21-year-old legionnaire, who showed a unique versatility and successfully played in the right wing defense, lost his position in the starting lineup due to two unexpected injuries received in the fall.
Initially, it was considered that a few weeks of recovery would be enough. However, the treatment of the second injury was prolonged, and as a result, Abdukodir was again left on the bench. During this time, the coaching staff was forced to hand over the positions entrusted to him to other players.
Currently, City is entrusting the right-wing defense to Mateusz Nunes. Although the Portuguese player made mistakes in some matches that put the team in a difficult position, Pep Guardiola's decisions haven't changed yet.
In the center, the tandem of Ruben Dias and Yoshko Guardiol demonstrates a stable and reliable game. It is no secret that their coordinated actions further strengthen the defense. There was another candidate in this position - England player John Stones, but he could get injured again and be removed from the roster for a long time.

John Stones was injured again. It is not yet known when it will be restored. I will tell you the exact date after additional medical examinations."
Although Stones's next injury this season is not a cause for joy, this situation could open the door to new opportunities for Abdukodir Khusanov. Because our legionnaire, who can confidently move both on the right wing and in the center, is very useful in Guardiola's tactical plan as a versatile player.
Khusanov's main position is center. If necessary, he can easily replace Yoshko Guardiol or Ruben Dias. If the team needs speed and active pressing, the coaches are expected to take into account the Uzbek player's strengths on the right wing.
In the current situation, Guardiola highly values every versatile player under his command. Therefore, new opportunities are close for Abduqodir. The coaching staff is highly likely to test him in the center of the field or on the wing once his form is restored.
