Yuriy Zhirkov Evaluates Safonov's Situation at PSG


Former Russian national team footballer Yuri Zhirkov shared his opinion on goalkeeper Matvey Safonov's career at France's PSG club. According to Zhirkov, Safonov has played only three matches in eight months.

«That's very few. If I were in his place, I would have already left PSG.

He is unfairly sitting on the bench,» said Zhirkov, as quoted by RB Sport. This season, Safonov has participated in three matches for the Paris club, conceding two goals.

The Russian goalkeeper joined the French top club last summer. The current contract between the parties is set to expire at the end of the 2028/2029 season.
