Manchester City repeat a 40-year FA Cup feat

Manchester City recorded the biggest win in their history in the 2025 FA Cup. Pep Guardiola’s side thrashed Exeter 10–1 at home. It is the club’s largest result since 1987, when City beat Huddersfield by the same scoreline.

In 2019, City scored nine unanswered goals against Burton in the EFL Cup, which remains their biggest win in that competition to date.

Manchester City also became the first Premier League team since 1986 to score 10 goals in a single match. The last time Liverpool hit 10 against Fulham came in the League Cup.

In FA Cup history, the last team to score more than 10 goals remains Tottenham. In February 1960, Spurs beat Crewe 13–2.

As a result, Manchester City’s match became a new club record and a landmark victory in the history books. The club is clearly heading for even greater success.
