Pari NN player Vadim Pigas spoke positively about Viktor Goncharenko’s appointment as head coach of the Belarus national team, euro-football.ru reports reports .
“Goncharenko is a very strong coach. I reacted positively to him taking over the national team. We don’t know each other personally, but I hope there will be such an opportunity soon,” Pigas was quoted as saying by RB Sport.
The footballer noted that, like everyone else, the Belarus national team wants to qualify for a major international tournament. In his view, Goncharenko can help the team achieve that goal.
As a reminder, Belarus finished last in their 2026 World Cup qualifying group with Scotland, Denmark and Greece and failed to reach the finals.
Goncharenko’s last job was at Pari NN. The specialist was dismissed after the team were relegated from the RPL following the playoff ties.
