Two own-goal thriller: Al Nassr grind out a hard-fought win (video)

In Round 16 of the Saudi Pro League, Al Nassr hosted Al Shabab and won 3–2 in a truly dramatic match. It was anything but easy: high tension, quick goals, and even a “show” of two own goals at both ends.

The scoring started very early—on the 2nd minute. Al Shabab’s Balobaid put the ball into his own net, seemingly making things easier for the hosts. Soon after, in the 8th minute, Coman doubled the lead to make it 2–0 for Al Nassr.

But Al Shabab responded quickly. On the 31st minute, Al Nassr’s Simakan also scored an own goal, bringing the visitors back into the game. Early in the second half, Junior struck in the 53rd minute to level it at 2–2. At that point the mood in the stadium shifted—the outcome was wide open again.

In a difficult moment, the goal that pushed Al Nassr ahead came in the 76th minute from Gharib. His precise finish gave the hosts a 3–2 advantage and three hugely important points.

Notably, Cristiano Ronaldo left the pitch without a goal this time. Still, Al Nassr showed resilience as a team and managed to hold on to the result in a tough game.

After the win, the Riyadh club moved to 34 points and returned to 2nd place in the standings. Al Shabab remain 14th with 11 points.
