One of the key matches in the 20th round of the Iranian Pro League - the clash between Malavon and Persepolis - has concluded. The Tehran team, in which Oston Urunov and Igor Sergeev play, defeated Chadormalu in the previous round, this time played away against Malavon.
In this match, our compatriots Urunov and Sergeev started the game and played until the final whistle. However, the guests' efforts did not turn into a result: the fate of the match was decided by a single goal scored by Muhammdjavod Muhammadiy in the 11th minute.
After that, how much "Persepolis" tried to turn the game in their favor - pressured, created chances, increased speed in attacks. However, Malavon goalkeeper Farzad Tayebipur and the defensive line played confidently, preventing the visitors from scoring. Despite having more control of the ball in the remaining minutes, Persepolis lacked a decisive shot and accuracy.
As a result, after 20 rounds, Persepolis dropped to 4th place with 34 points. The leaders are very close: the top three teams - "Istiqlol," "Traktor Tabriz," and "Sepahan" have 35 points each. "Malavan" is in seventh place with 28 points. So, in the fight for the championship, every round is worth gold, and the answer to every mistake is harsh.
