Shanghai Shenhua under Slutskiy loses in final round

After missing out on the AFC Champions League playoffs following seven rounds, Shanghai Shenhua faced Buriram United in the 8th round. Leonid Slutskiy's team tried to end their tournament run on a high note, but failed to secure a result. This is reported by euro-football.ru reports .

The Thai club won 2-0. Buriram United scored twice in the first half and controlled the game for the remainder of the match. The intrigue effectively ended after Shanghai Shenhua were reduced to ten men shortly after.

For information, Leonid Slutskiy's current contract with Shanghai Shenhua runs until the end of 2027.
