Former Manchester United striker Michael Owen believes that if the season had started when Michael Currick took charge, the club would have been leading the Premier League. Speaking to the Daily Mail, Owen said that the team's uniform under Carrick was strong enough to take them to the top of the tournament table at this stage of the campaign.
Owen emphasized that if Kerrick had been in charge from the first round, Manchester United would have held the clear lead now, with only about a third of the season remaining. According to him, the discussions around the club would have been entirely different, and fans and experts would have seriously questioned whether the team would have won the Premier League title.
According to the report, since Kerrick became head coach, Manchester United has played 10 matches, recording seven wins, two draws, and one loss. However, the team slowed down part of that pace by dropping points in two of the last three games.
Following the 31st round of the Premier League season, Manchester United sits in third place with 55 points. Arsenal leads the league table with 70 points, and this significant gap makes Owen's prediction only a probable scenario.
