Uzbekistan national team footballer Alisher Odilov shared his thoughts after the match against Gabon within the FIFA Series. According to him, the game was serious and physically demanding, but the result was satisfying for the team.
— I congratulate everyone on the victory. The game was as difficult as we expected. Physically, it also required endurance. Thank God, we came off the field with a bright face. In the next matches, we will try to perform at an even higher level, — said Odilov.
According to the journalist, March has been very successful for Odilov: he scored several goals, won a prize in the tournament, and now also managed to occupy the opponent’s goal in the national team.
— Everything happens by the name of Allah. This could have happened to others as well, but it was destined for me. God willing, we will try to continue at the same pace, — added the footballer.
Regarding the goal celebration, Odilov said:
— Many misunderstood this. In fact, this movement belonged to UFC fighter Ilia Topuria. I like that fighter, so I tried to repeat his movement.
He also commented on the heavy start of the first half and the reasons for it:
— It was difficult for the opposing team to adapt to each other. In the second half, the play was better organized. In the next match, we will play against Venezuela, and this time such mistakes will not be repeated, — said Odilov.
