Salah will lose his bonus at "Liverpool"

Mohamed Salah will reportedly miss out on a £20 million bonus because he has decided to leave "Liverpool" before the end of his current contract. The Sun says the payment was tied to a clause that would have rewarded the Egyptian forward if he had stayed with the club through the end of the 2026-2027 season.

According to the report, the bonus clause was included in a contract signed in April 2025. Since Salah is now expected to depart this summer, he will not qualify for that payment. The same report adds that "Liverpool" could save a total of £40.8 million, or about €46.9 million, because of his early exit.

Salah announced on March 24 that he will leave "Liverpool" after the current season. His existing deal still runs until the summer of 2027, but his decision means his time at Anfield will end earlier than planned.

The 33-year-old winger has been one of "Liverpool"’s most important players since joining the club in 2017. In 435 appearances across all competitions, he has scored 255 goals and provided 122 assists, building a remarkable record during his years with the Merseyside side.
