Javohir Sindorov awarded the Order of 'Mehnat Shuhrati'

The 2026 FIDE Candidates Tournament has concluded, with our compatriot Javohir Sindorov emerging victorious. The competition was held at a high level and attracted the attention of the global chess community.

An awards ceremony took place on April 16th. Sindorov's success was officially recognized, and his name once again shone brightly in world chess.

Today, the champion returned to his homeland. A grand welcoming ceremony was organized for him at Tashkent International Airport, where fans, the sports community, and officials gave him a warm welcome.

Furthermore, by decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Sindorov was awarded the Order of 'Mehnat Shuhrati' (Glory of Labor). Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov officially read the decree to those gathered at the airport.

Javohir Sindorov's achievement is being recorded as a significant milestone in the country's chess history and raises hopes for even greater results in the future.
