The first stage of the World Boxing Cup took place from April 20–26 in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil. In this prestigious competition, 400 athletes from 49 countries entered the ring to compete for victory.

The national team of Uzbekistan participated in this stage with 4 boxers and, despite the small squad, achieved a worthy result. Our representative team concluded the competition with 2 gold and 1 bronze medals, once again demonstrating its potential.

Farzona Fozilova in the -48 kg weight category and Navbahor Hamidova in the -65 kg category surpassed their opponents to become gold medalists and claim the championship. They performed confidently in the decisive bouts, demonstrating high-level skill.

The bronze medal was credited to Jahongir Zokirov in the +90 kg weight category. He also delivered a worthy performance under conditions of intense competition throughout the tournament.

Coach Elshod Rasulov contributed significantly to the team's success. Additionally, Maruf Urdushev, who participated in the competition as a referee, also worthily represented the honor of our country.

In short, "small squad — maximum result." This outcome is certain to lay the foundation for further great victories in the future.
