James Rodriguez has no intention of retiring

Colombia national team midfielder James Rodriguez has denied reports that he plans to retire after the upcoming World Cup. The 34-year-old, currently playing for MLS side Minnesota United on a short-term contract, emphasized that he is still capable of playing at a high level for several more years. This is reported by Goal.com .

In an interview with Apple TV reporters following the 2-2 draw against Austin FC, Rodriguez dismissed these rumors as baseless. According to him, such false reports are spread solely to create hype and gain likes on social media.

"Only I know when I will retire, and I will announce it in advance. For now, I see myself playing for several more years. I am taking good care of my body and working hard in training," said the experienced midfielder.

With his contract at Minnesota United expiring, the player will now focus on the Colombia national team's preparations for the World Cup. His final match is expected to be on Wednesday against the Colorado Rapids.
