Alphonso Davies injury worries Bayern and Canada national team

Bayern defender Alphonso Davies has suffered another serious injury and will miss the remainder of the season. The Canadian, who injured his left hamstring during the Champions League semi-final against PSG, is also a doubt for the summer World Cup. This is reported by Goal.com .

Club sporting director Christoph Freund called the situation very unfortunate. According to him, Davies was struggling to regain his form after a severe knee injury, and recurring muscle problems are also negatively affecting the player's mental state.

The player's medical history is quite complex: after tearing his cruciate ligaments in March 2025, he was sidelined for nine months. Despite returning in December, he was plagued by muscle injuries in February and March. This situation is fueling concerns about Davies falling into depression.

Head coach Vincent Kompany, while not doubting the defender's physical recovery, did not hide his serious concern regarding his mental state. Davies had previously openly admitted to suffering from depression and going through difficult times during his long-term rehabilitation.

In the current season, Alphonso Davies has made 23 appearances for Bayern, scoring 1 goal and providing 5 assists. The club management announced that they will take all measures to support the player.
