Joao Pedro: I draw inspiration from Harry Kane

Chelsea forward Joao Pedro spoke about his new role as a central striker, admitting that he watches Harry Kane to improve his game. The Brazilian player responded to comparisons with club legend Didier Drogba, emphasizing that he wants to write his own history at Stamford Bridge. This is reported by Goal.com .

The 24-year-old striker noted that he has reached a new stage in his career: "At Watford and Brighton, I played as a number 10 or behind the striker, but after joining Chelsea, I wanted to play specifically as a number 9. Nowadays, I closely watch the games of Harry Kane and Robert Lewandowski, and I draw more inspiration from Kane, especially because of his experience in the English Premier League."

This season, Joao Pedro has made 48 appearances for Chelsea, scoring 20 goals and providing 9 assists. He considers himself a modern forward who not only scores goals but also links up the team play. In his opinion, combining the ability to build play and score goals, just like Kane, is the key to success.

Touching on the comparisons with Didier Drogba, Pedro said: "Drogba is a true idol for Chelsea. Fans sometimes call me the 'new Drogba', but I want to follow my own path and write my own history without feeling extra pressure."
