Xabi Alonso appointed as Chelsea head coach

Chelsea have reached a final agreement to bring their primary target, Xabi Alonso, to the club. The 44-year-old Spanish tactician, who won an unbeaten Bundesliga title with Bayer Leverkusen, has signed a four-year contract at Stamford Bridge. This is reported by Goal.com reports .
According to The Athletic, Xabi Alonso will replace Liam Rosenior at the London club. The coach visited London last week to agree on the terms of the contract. An official announcement is expected shortly.
Alonso will start his role not just as head coach, but as club manager. This change means he will be granted broader powers over transfers and club operations, a situation not seen under previous managers.
Tactically, Alonso is expected to implement the 3-4-2-1 formation that proved successful in Germany. The board has high hopes for his ability to develop young talent, particularly in taking Cole Palmer's game to the next level.
