Cristiano Ronaldo trading card sold for a record $1.35 million

Cristiano Ronaldo is used to breaking records on the pitch, but the Portuguese superstar has now achieved a stunning result in the world of collectibles. A unique "1-of-1" trading card featuring the Al-Nassr forward has sold for a record sum, once again proving his global influence off the pitch. This was reported by Goal.com .

The green Panini Kaboom card from 2018, featuring Ronaldo during his time at Juventus, sold for $1.35 million in a private sale on the Fanatics Collect platform. This deal is a historic event for the football memorabilia market, showing that the demand for elite-level collectibles is as competitive as the sport itself.

This is the highest price ever paid for a Ronaldo card, moving it into second place in football history behind a Lionel Messi card ($1.5 million). It even surpassed the amount paid for a legendary Pelé card ($1.33 million). Previously, another Ronaldo card sold for $420,000, and this new deal has more than tripled that figure.

The 2018 Panini Kaboom series was not released for mass retail but was offered as part of the special Panini Rewards program. The green "1-of-1" version is considered the most sought-after and prized design among collectors. The seller noted that the card was graded at the highest level—a 10—by the Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA).

The collector who sold the card shared their excitement on social media: "This was one of the crown jewels of my collection. Ronaldo's Juventus era should be as highly valued as his time at Manchester United and Real Madrid. He is a true champion and a legend who strives to overcome various challenges."
