Google loses antitrust case to US Department of Justice
Google has lost a major antitrust lawsuit brought by the U.S. Department of Justice, reports The Verge via Wylsa.com.

The court ruled that Google unlawfully dominated the search and ad tech markets. The company now faces a final federal hearing in Washington, D.C., where the DOJ will propose a mandatory corporate restructuring plan.

If approved, Google could be forced to spin off Android, the Chrome browser, and lose the ability to pay for default search engine placement.

Industry analysts say only a miracle — or Donald Trump — could stop the restructuring, as the initiative comes from Joe Biden’s administration, with whom Trump reportedly has personal grudges.
