One of the world’s largest technology companies, Google, has launched a major initiative in film and television production. According to Business Insider, the company has created a new division called 100 Zeros. This new branch will partner with the production company Range Media Partners and focus on finding promising and innovative film and TV projects that Google may fund.
Through this initiative, Google aims to increase interest in its new services, especially in artificial intelligence technologies and the Android platform. It has been reported that in the films and series produced through this initiative, main characters will be shown using Android smartphones, though efforts are being made to ensure the integration does not appear forced or unnatural.
The first project from 100 Zeros was a horror film titled “Kakoo”, which was released to the public in early 2024. The film’s opening credits include the 100 Zeros logo, representing Google’s new entertainment venture.
Interestingly, Google does not plan to use YouTube — one of its biggest platforms — as the main distributor for these films and shows. This suggests the company may collaborate with dedicated film and streaming platforms instead.
It’s worth noting that Google has not officially announced the 100 Zeros initiative and has declined to comment on the leaked information in the media.
Experts believe this new direction from Google could lead to significant competition in the film and series market, where Amazon and Apple have already established strong positions with their own studios. Google seems determined to bring a distinct and innovative perspective to the industry.
How the public responds to Google’s initiative and what impact it will have on the film industry remains to be seen. But one thing is clear: the tech giant is looking not only to expand its business scope but also to reshape the standards of modern film and TV production. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
