Apple continues to set new technological standards every year. According to Digital Chat Station insiders, the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models expected to be introduced in 2026 will have significant changes that will move the smartphone world one step further. The main innovation is the disappearance of any physical holes and elements on the screen, switching to a completely “clean,” perfectly ideal display format.
Apple will now place the Face ID system and the front camera entirely under the screen. The Dynamic Island feature will also become a thing of the past. These changes will give users a boundless, limitless screen experience and start a new era in gadget design.
New technologies and innovative experience
The new iPhones will have 6.27- and 6.86-inch OLED panels. These screens will be equipped with LTPO technology and will display images at 1.5K resolution. Most importantly, a new solution called HIAA (Hole-in-Active-Area) will make some parts of the screen “transparent.” This creates the possibility for light transmission for important sensors such as Face ID and the camera. Although Samsung and ZTE were the first to implement this approach, Apple is trying to further improve this solution in its devices.
The Face ID system will work from under the screen with a high-precision infrared sensor, dot projector, IR camera, and illuminators. While many current standard under-screen technologies encounter problems in receiving infrared light, Apple engineers are working on new optical materials and sensors to achieve major breakthroughs in this area.
The history of completely abandoning Dynamic Island
According to the information, the idea of giving up Dynamic Island technology was discussed as early as during the development of iPhone 15, but as a first step, only the display size was reduced. In the new iPhone 18 series, this goal is expected to be fully realized, and the device will go down in history with its unprecedented “Full Screen” display in terms of cleanliness.
A new stage in design and prospects
These Apple innovations can set new standards not only in aesthetics but also in user experience and security. If the screen is completely “clean,” watching videos, gaming, and photography capabilities will become even brighter. According to foreign sources, the upper layer of the screen will provide not only a beautiful and clear image, but also optimal light transmission for internal sensors.
This solution will push Apple even further ahead in competition with other brands in the market. For now, the company itself has not officially confirmed these changes, but information from Digital Chat Station and other insiders is expected to become a reality soon. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
