Competition among AI companies in China is intensifying
One of China's leading technology companies, Baidu, has introduced new products and services to increase competition in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). Today, the company launched an AI-based video generator called MuseSteamer, aimed at enterprises, and completely revamped its search engine.

MuseSteamer is a next-generation technology that enables image-to-video conversion and can generate videos up to 10 seconds long. The model is available in three versions — Turbo, Pro, and Lite — tailored to different levels of needs.

Other global tech giants — including OpenAI, ByteDance, Tencent, and Alibaba — introduced models last year that allow video generation from text or images. However, Baidu has taken a different approach: MuseSteamer is currently intended only for business users, and a mobile app for the general public has not yet been released.

In addition, Baidu has significantly updated its search engine. Users can now submit longer text queries and use voice- and image-based search functions. Search results are now provided using Baidu’s AI algorithms, making them more accurate and user-tailored.

Amid these developments, Baidu is facing strong competition in China from other AI-powered chatbots. Products like Doubao from ByteDance and Yuanbao from Tencent are gaining widespread popularity. Baidu’s new initiatives are seen as a strategic step to strengthen its position in this competitive landscape.
