YouTube has announced the global rollout of its “Hype” feature, designed to help smaller creators gain visibility. Initially introduced at the Made On YouTube event in 2024, the feature appears below the “like” button and is available for creators with fewer than 500,000 subscribers.
The feature allows users to help their favorite creators by adding “hype” to their videos. Viewers can add hype to three videos per week, which helps those videos gain visibility on a new ranking leaderboard found in the Explore menu.
The videos that get this boost will display a “hyped” badge, and users can filter their YouTube Home feed to only show videos from the new hyped category. Small creators are given a larger boost compared to larger creators when fans add hype to their videos.
