In Turkey, there are disruptions in accessing popular social networks and messengers. Serious difficulties are reported when using X, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and WhatsApp.
According to foreign media, the problems began on Sunday at 20:45 GMT. From that moment, the platforms’ throughput capacity was significantly restricted.
It is reported that the restrictions were introduced shortly after the Republican People’s Party called for protests, following the police setting up barricades around its headquarters in Istanbul.
At the same time, the Turkish Internet Service Providers Association, responsible for implementing the blocking measures, has not yet made any official statement.
