Major shifts begin in OpenAI’s business structure

OpenAI has received Microsoft’s official approval to restructure its for-profit division, TechCrunch reported. This decision paves the way for significant internal changes within OpenAI.

Since 2019, OpenAI has partnered with Microsoft and received billions in investment. Now, the company may gain full control over its for-profit arm — OpenAI Global.

The new structure allows OpenAI to independently shape its business strategy, manage investors, and make technical decisions. Microsoft will remain a major investor and technical partner in the project.
