Tenscope analysts have calculated how long people in different countries of the world need to work to buy a basic iPhone 17 with 256 GB of memory. The results of the comparison once again clearly showed how much the income and standard of living of the population differ in different countries.
According to reports, working in Luxembourg and Switzerland, one of the wealthiest countries in Europe, takes only three days to purchase a new Apple smartphone. Also, in such countries as the USA, Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Norway, this indicator does not differ much - an average of 4 days of work is sufficient.
However, the situation in developing countries is dramatically different. For example, in India, it takes 160 days to get an iPhone 17. In the Philippines, this indicator is 101 days, in Vietnam - 99 days, in Turkey - 89 days, and in Brazil - 77 days.
Analysts did not provide accurate calculations for Uzbekistan. However, based on the available data, it is possible to draw an approximate result. According to him, the base iPhone 17 with 256 GB of memory is expected to go on sale in Uzbekistan from September 23 at a price of around $1,300.
According to the results of the first half of 2025, the average monthly salary in the country amounted to 5 million 982 thousand soums. This amounts to approximately $480, or $16 per day. Based on this calculation, it can be said that for an average working person in Uzbekistan, buying an iPhone 17 costs at least 80 days of work.
So, if in Europe it is possible to get a new iPhone in less than a week, then in Uzbekistan, for most people, having this device requires collecting their monthly salary many times over. This once again shows the huge difference in economic opportunities and living standards between countries.
