The main issue is the TikTok algorithm. China does not want to hand it over completely, but is ready to share it under a license. Experts say this could limit the app’s capabilities.
The deal still needs approval from Congress. Some lawmakers are concerned that China’s influence may remain. The way TikTok will operate in other countries is also unclear.
According to experts, Beijing intends to keep the algorithm while licensing it to spread its technologies to other nations. This could also affect US–China trade relations.
