A new adaptive power saving system has been launched on iOS 26

One of the important updates for users in the iOS 26 operating system, recently unveiled by Apple, was the "Adaptive Power Mode." This feature is aimed at smart background management, aimed at saving battery life during iPhone use. Interestingly, this mode is activated not always, but only when the system notices excessive power consumption.

With the new feature, the smartphone owner can gain up to 1 hour of extra working time per day by default. If the phone is used in light mode, the time reserve is expected to increase to 2 hours. However, in some cases, the influence of the regime is not significant.

One of the interesting aspects is that the recently introduced iPhone 17 Air model, despite having a smaller battery, demonstrates quite good autonomous performance. Adaptive power mode also provides some support for this model, but experts emphasize that it is not the smartphone's main "rescuer."

At the same time, another important feature within iOS 26 - Apple Intelligence - is only available on iPhone 15 Pro and higher models. That is, owners of older iPhones will not be able to use this option. The new iPhone 17 series stands out in this regard: it comes with Adaptive Power mode automatically enabled by default.
