Apple increased the reward for those who find security flaws to up to $2 million

Apple has expanded its Apple Security Bounty program and, according to Rozetked.me, has doubled the amount of rewards given to specialists who detect vulnerabilities in its security systems.

Now, up to $2 million will be awarded for detecting the most dangerous attack chains. If a researcher manages to bypass Lockdown Mode or find vague bugs in beta versions, the total reward can reach up to $5 million.

According to Apple, this is the largest and unprecedented sum in the history of the field:

“This is one of the biggest rewards in the industry. With additional bonuses, it can exceed $5 million,” the company statement said.

Also, the reward for bypassing Gatekeeper has increased to up to $100,000, and hacking iCloud now awards up to $1 million.

The updated rules will come into effect from November 2025. That month, new categories and reward lists will be announced on the Apple Security Research website.
